Chateau d’Avignon is a gracious and comfortable 10 bedroom/10 bathroom air conditioned castle. Built during the 14th century, it once served as a chateau for Bishops awaiting an audience with the Popes of Avignon. It was tastefully restored to its original splendor with added modern conveniences during the 19th century. On the ground floor of the chateau is a spacious vaulted living room with a fireplace and plenty of comfortable seating. Satelitte TV with DVD Player. Off the living room are a library corner with computer and high speed Internet access, as well as ONE cozy double bedroom king size bed with en-suite bath. A separate dining room leads to a covered outdoor dining area and beyond, a large open patio. Fully-equipped ground floor Provencal kitchen with large fridge, ice makers, large French cooker, coffee maker, dishwasher and microwave. There is also a powder room on this level. Ground floor laundry. Upstairs is a comfortable sitting room and 5 bedrooms with 5 KING size beds which can be separated for twin beds, each with its own en suite bath. All of the bedrooms are decorated with an understated elegance. The master bedroom, with its canopy king size bed, opens onto a large balcony overlooking the gardens. It also contains a separate single bedroom, making this suite ideal for a couple with a child. The other three double bedrooms are decorated in typical Provence style, color, and charm. No smoking is permitted in the bedrooms. In the East wing there are 4 other double bedrooms with king size bed which also can be separated for 2 single beds with en suite bathrooms, air conditioning, safe and TV. Return from a day of exploring to enjoy the beautiful gardens and grounds, or relax by the or watch the goldfish swim among the water lilies in the lovely pond on the terrace. Take a rest in the shade of the covered terrace, an inviting spot for al fresco dining.

Additional Information Guests generally arrive in Paris at Charles de Gaulle airport (CDG) and transfer to the high speed TGV train headed for Avignon (approx. 2h40m). Once in Avignon, a rental car is suggested to drive to the villa.
Other options include flying into Marseille (MRS) or Nice (NCE) and then renting a car.
There is also a small airport in Avignon that has some flights from London and can also accommodate private jets
